about
Artist Statement
My work deals with vulnerability, gentleness and the question of how social norms shape our perception of strength and weakness. I am interested in how patriarchal structures suppress feelings such as tenderness and openness, while emphasising toughness and conformity. With my work, I want to create spaces that allow emotions to be expressed without having to justify them.
Textiles are a central medium in my work, which stems from my training as a tailor before my studies. Their tactile quality creates an immediate connection and familiarity. Fabrics carry stories and traces of touch and everyday life – qualities that I use to make intimate and often complex themes visible.
I want to create spaces where one can simply be, without expectations or pressure to perform. Places that offer security and, at the same time, the opportunity to engage with one's own perceptions and thoughts.
My work aims to enable reflection and create moments in which new perspectives on identity and social norms can emerge. My goal is to make gentleness and vulnerability tangible not as weaknesses, but as part of an authentic human existence.
