negative_rpm first version:
The art project ‘negative_rpm’ (respirations per minute) created a space that invited visitors to pause and slow down. The installation addressed the need to find a moment of peace and retreat amid the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
In the Ursuline Church, the tent hung from the ceiling in the central axis in front of the high altar.

The interior was decorated with moss, crocheted mushrooms and a garland of flowers. Shielded by pink curtains, it created an atmosphere that conveyed a sense of security and protection. Visitors were invited to enter the tent imaginatively in order to retreat for a moment from the flood of everyday life – with all its impressions, conflicts and challenges.

The space was deliberately designed as a place of retreat that allowed emotions such as fear, anger, grief or loss to be acknowledged without having to act or react immediately. In this protected environment, the focus was on simply being and self-acceptance.

‘negative_rpm’ thus became a protective space that created a welcoming and calming atmosphere. The installation thus took up a central function of the surrounding church space: to be a place of silence, protection and reflection. It offered visitors a temporary refuge that allowed them to escape the hustle and bustle of life and find peace for a moment.

negative_rpm second version:
In the second version of ‘negative_rpm,’ the installation created an introspective space that reached an even more personal level. The interior of the tent was decorated with pink cushions made of different fabrics and textures, reflecting the artist's inner perception. This space symbolised withdrawal into oneself.

An additional video shows the artist undressing and lying naked in the space. This act illustrates that this place is perceived as so safe that it is possible to show oneself completely vulnerable and unprotected – an environment that allows one to drop all masks.
