Perceived Love

Perceived Love deals with the fragile duality of emotional experiences – the simultaneity of love and pain, of connection and loss. In the ninety days following a breakup, I collected my tears so that the love and loss that accompanied me during this time would not simply fade away. Each tear felt like a precious moment that I wanted to hold on to a little longer.
In a solution of aluminium potassium sulphate, the salts contained in the tears combine with growing crystals. The tears thus become part of fine crystal structures, transforming fleeting, intense feelings into something tangible – something that can be touched and kept.
These crystals form the basis of a growing jewellery collection – small, personal objects that carry within them the memory of vulnerability and the process of healing. Perceived Love focuses on deep feeling and understands vulnerability as a form of strength – as a gentle reminder that it is okay to break down in order to rebuild yourself.
